Drug addicts don’t willingly put themselves in dangerous situations for no apparent reason. The addiction to drugs disrupts the brain chemistry in a person, causing him or her to commit unreasonable felonies for personal stability. The “free heroin for addicts” program supplies these addicts with drugs to help diminish crime rates in Vancouver. Do we really feel that supplying this drug will be a permanent relief to a rising crime rate? Effectively, a drug addict, who feeds his or her addiction through this program, could be at risk for committing a crime, abusing the system or overdosing. The “free heroin for addicts” program doesn’t intend to hurt their sick patients. But the truth is, drug addicts will suffer worse outcomes and ultimately receive less mental health care. The program offers an unorthodox method that eliminates one problem while simultaneously creating a new one. The ability to see human beings for their actions, while neglecting to see their mental health issues, is the real crime.

Money seems to have a big role in our society; we can’t do much or get far if we don’t have any. Money is valuable in different ways, even when we don’t see it physically. The transfer of money (some of which is never seen) can be physically exchanged in return for tangible goods and services. In today’s society we must have faith in the government and in the banking system that our money is being handled with in the proper manner, if not then we would have to hide all of our money under our mattresses or around our houses. I have no clue what happens in the banks, or how they take care of our money. I always thought money was simple; we either have some or we don’t—that’s it. However, being introduced to this assignment, the Yap Fei, US gold, French francs, Brazilian cruzeros, and debit accounts now seem similar. No one actually sees their money being transferred. When we get paid, we are not handed something palpable, we receive a number on a screen that reflects our income. We simply need to trust that the screen is right. Effectively, our banking system [via online banking, direct deposit and paperless bank statements] makes our economy run smooth and effectively.

When you get paid, you aren’t handed cash, you don’t receive a physical check, the money’s all directly transferred to your bank account, and you just have to trust that you got more money.

Money dictates what people can and can’t do in life. Money has value in both physical and virtual form. We sometimes store money in our own houses as an alternative, when we don’t trust the government and banking. We don’t all know how banks work or how they handle our money. I originally thought money was simple; either we had it or we didn’t. This assignment has shown me that the Yap Fei, US gold, French francs, Brazilian cruzeros, and debit accounts are very similar. We don’t always literally see our money being transferred. When paid, due to the absence of cash and checks, we’re left to trust that money was transferred to our bank accounts.

Money seems to have a big role in our society; you can’t do much or get far if you don’t have any. Money is valuable in different ways, even when there is no possession of money, it still has much power behind it. In today’s society we put so much faith in the government as well as the banking system in what way they handle our money, and if they are treating it in the right manner. But when the government and banking system failure to put it in a good manner, they force the people to place there money in the hands of someone else. We as people have no clue what happens in the banks, or how they take care of our money. People see the way money works as being simple; we either have money to our name or we don’t—that’s it. However, after being introduced to this assignment, the Yap Fei, US gold, French francs, Brazilian cruzeros, and debit accounts now seem similar. No one cares too sees their money being transferred as long as the proper balance is being put into place. When we get paid, we aren’t handed cash, we don’t receive a physical check, the money’s all directly transferred to our bank account, and we just have to trust that we got our increase in money.

Recently a reoccurring problem have been taking place in Vancouver, with heroin addicts committing crimes to support their drug habits. The “free heroin for addicts” program is doing everything they can to stop the addicts. A problem Vancouver seem to encounter a lot is that these drug addicts are committing large crime rate due to these addicts. An obvious analogy is that addicts are having a hard time getting through their day to day lives. Daily activities such as jobs, interactions, and relationships are hard to maintain when heroin has been taking over the addicts life. When being addicted, addicts will do whatever they can to do to get their hands on the drug, which usually leads to crime related activities. The of crimes committed are based around robbery, for which it makes it easier for these addicts to get money to exchange for heroin. When it comes to these addicts trying to get there hands on heroin there are no limits to where they will go, so that they can feed their addiction. Problems that occur with this program is that it doesn’t really ween these addicts off using heroin. The program is only trying to save the city from rising crime rates that occur from these addicts. When Vancouver provides heroin, these addicts will be off the streets, which in turn will prevent them from committing minor street crimes. Handing drugs to the addicts will also keep the heroin users out of the hospital for which they can monitor over these user. While hospitals have to deal with people that want to use bad drugs or unsanitary needles, addicts tend to find themselves in a position of not being unable to afford hospital bills and hard to cope without the drug. A program that gives people free heroin in the cleanest way possible. Which will in turn fix the city  but not the addiction that these people face.

There is a massive problem in Vancouver with heroin addicts committing crimes to support their habits. The “Free Heroin for Addicts” program is doing everything they can to help the addicts. As a result of addiction, there has been sky-high crime rates. Obviously, addicts have a harder time getting through their day to day lives as apposed to the normal citizen. Daily activities such as work, interactions, and relationships are hard to maintain because of their drug use. Thanks to their addiction, they will do anything for their fix. Breaking and entering, along with stealing, are among the type of crimes committed. There is no limit to how far an addict will go to feed their addiction. However, this program will not help addicts ween off of their drugs. All this will do is lower crime rate. Providing the drug will prevent minor street crime by taking the addicts off of the streets, while also keeping them out of the hospital. Now, hospitals must deal with drug addicts who cannot afford their medical bills, let alone function without their drug. This program gives addicts free heroin in the cleanest way possible, and it may help the city, but it will not cure the addict’s disease.
