Ethics determines the profits/losses

People don’t realize but their so called “morals” change once they get exposure to the business world. Normal morals are different from business morals. Normal morals are the principles or habits taught by our parents/guardians to understand and state what is the right and wrong choice to make or do. While business ethics falls under different standards; it is mostly the rules of conduct that a company gives to their employees which usually affect their morals because sometimes we are unwilling to do the tasks of what the company we work for ask us to do. We ask ourselves why do we follow these unethical rules the reason is why we want to keep our jobs and keep supporting our families. The effects of telling the company we work for that we will not follow these unethical rules will end in either getting fired or told that there will be changes but most likely lose the job.

In the business world we won’t hear too much about business ethics, though another term we do hear is corporate social responsibility which is somewhat like ethics just a more narrowly concern about the company’s obligations. CSR plays an important role in every firm or company in the United States. CSR and business ethics go hand in hand if either of them are tampered with or in another terms, people change the rules and make it their own the business will be corrupt and there will not be as much profit. Word gets out when businesses do not perform well and lack in any of the four axes such as being a committed employer, build relationships with our customers, serve civil society, being an environmentally friendly player. I believe that the CSR is like an insurance for business ethics, CSR is there to provide people with guidance on how to act within the firm with everybody. However if CSR starts to lack no customer will seek guidance from that firm/company again because of how their service lacked. This effects the business tremendously for example if customers stop recommending others to come to our firm we can not make profit and worse run of out business. That is why having the right kind of ethics is important and should always be looked upon and checked every now and then.

In Vancouver, heroin addicts often commit crimes to support their habits. The “free heroin for addicts” program is doing everything they can to stop the addicts. The problem is that there is a large crime rate due to the addicts. Addicts have a hard time getting through their day to day lives. Addicts’ daily activities such as jobs, interactions, and relationships are hard to maintain because of the fact that they are using. By heroin users being addicted, they will do whatever they have to do to get their hands on the drug. Users may commit crimes such as breaking and entering as well as stealing. No limits to where they will go to retrieve this drug so that they can feed their addiction. The problem with this program is that it won’t help to ween these addicts off using heroin. The program only helps to save the city from rising crime rates that they’re up to. By providing the drug, addicts will be off the streets, which in turn will prevent them from committing minor street crimes. in addition, keep the heroin users out of the hospital. Hospitals shouldn’t have to deal with people that want to use bad drugs or unsanitary needles and find themselves being unable to afford hospital bills and hard to cope without the drug. The program gives people free heroin in the cleanest way possible. The program will in turn fix the city but not the addiction that these people face.

Money seems to have a big role in our society; we can’t do much or get far if we don’t have any. Money is valuable in different ways, even when we don’t see it physically. In today’s society we must have faith in the government and in the banking system that money is being handled in the proper manner; if not, then we would have to hide all the money under a mattress or around the house. I have no clue what happens in the banks, or how they take care of money. I always thought money was simple; either it’s there or not – that’s it. However, being introduced to this assignment, the Yap Fei, US gold, French francs, Brazilian cruzeros, and debit accounts now seem similar. In the banks we don’t see the money being transferred. When getting paid, we aren’t handed cash, no physical check, the money is directly transferred to the bank account, and have to trust that all the money is in the account.

Vancouver suffers from a plentiful amount of heroin addicts committing crimes (such as breaking and entering and robbery) to support their unfavorable habits. A new controversial program provides addicts with free heroin as a way to aid heroin users. Using heroin consumes the users life, turning into an obsession that they are unable to live without. Finding jobs, day-to-day interactions and maintaining relationships become all too difficult for the user because they invest all of their time finding ways to obtain heroin. Weaning users off heroin is not the programs intent; in fact, it is only trying to reduce the rising crime rate in Vancouver. Many heroin users cannot afford expensive hospital bills when they overdose and hospitals should not have to deal with people who choose to use the drug. The program gives users heroin in the cleanest way possible by providing clean heroin and clean needles to prevent the spread of blood-borne diseases. The city’s crime rate will reduce but heroin addicts still have a long and difficult road in front of them.

In Vancouver, a huge problem with heroin addicts committing crimes to support their habits has ARISEN. Although crime rates are at an all time high because of these addicts, the “free heroin for addicts” program has aided in helping people with this addiction. For an addict, getting through the day can be hard because their addiction is so strong, and often makes it difficult to interact in their places of work, with friends, and have relationships. Because their addiction cannot be broken, they will do whatever they have to do to get their hands on the drug. Breaking and entering, and theft are only some of the crimes these users will commit for their fix. No limits exist as to where they will go to retrieve this drug so their addiction can be fed. Even though the program has the right idea, and helping out the crime rates, we are not helping those addicted to heroin. By providing drugs to users, they will not have to commit the minor crimes for money or drugs. The “free heroin for addicts” program will also provide needles and a safe using environment, so the hospitals do not have to get involved. The program will help clean up the city of Vancouver, but not the lives of users.
